Minimum Requirements :

Minimum one-year experience in
construction sites as supervisors, foremen etc.

Ability to read and understand
construction drawings.

Six
passes in GCE ‘O’ level with 3 credits including a pass in English and a
credit pass in Mathematics.
Subjects/Medium :
Building
Construction, Works Management, Surveying and Leveling, Construction Materials,
Engineering Drawing, Quantity Surveying, Water Supply & Drainage and English
(for construction). These subjects
will be covered in the course by lectures, discussions, demonstrations,
practicals etc. Medium will be
English. Instructions will be given
in Sinhala as necessary.
Methodology :
Lectures,
Discussions, Exercises and Tests.
Duration :
The
course will be held on two full days every week for 50 full days.
Evaluation :
Tests
in all subjects and a practical test in Surveying and Leveling will be the
criterion for evaluation.
Certificate :
A
certificate will be issued on successful completion of the course fulfilling all
requirements including written tests and the practical test in Surveying and
Leveling.
