These include several training courses for foreign participants from the Asian and African region sponsored by APO, UNDP and the Govt. of the Netherlands. Details of some of the courses for professionals from the Asian region and Africa are given below:

1. 2 courses (one-month duration) in Construction Management for Engineers from the Asian region – 1998 and 1999 sponsored by UNDP under the Sri Lanka TCDC Programme.
2. Course in Housing and Project Management for Project Manager of UNDP funded Capacity Building Project of Sierra Leone (West Africa) – one month, funded by UNDP
3. 2 courses in Quality Control for senior Engineers of the Public Works Department of Vietnam – I-month and 2-months duration, funded by UNDP
4. Human settlements and Sustainable Urban Development in South Asia: The Challenges for the 20th Century in association with HIS, Rotterdam for its alumni in South Asian Region – 10 day duration, funded by the government of the Netherlands
